After many decades of teaching, I find myself ready to leave public schools behind, and ready to build this new learning center with old fashioned principles, that stand the test of time. Morals that make little boys and little girls mighty men and women of God.
We are ready to bring back pen and paper assessments, cursive, our nation’s history that has long been under attack, and prayer in our classrooms. After all, we call ourselves one nation under God, and then we remove His name from everything that is good.
Family, freedom and faith is the bedrock of Homestead Elementary. This is what our journey is all about. We are ready to start teaching what should be taught, and to protect our children from what they should never see or hear.
Having a love of teaching has finally brought us to this place of starting Homestead Elementary which has shown God’s hand in directing us every step of the way.
From leading us to the Well Church and having a shared vision for what our one room schoolhouse would look like, to our naming and branding that emphasizes who we are and what our mission statement says about us.
There has been lots to do and I can’t be thankful enough to all those who have helped in what has been needed to launch our dream. From Pastor Greg McMullen of the Well Church, who shared a vision of giving us a platform, to my husband who has worked tirelessly to remodel the one-room schoolhouse to our specifications, as well as creating our branding, website design, videography, photography and technical abilities above and beyond most people’s capabilities.
There is so much to do and we’ve done so much already, but in the end we know this is our path going forward.
Everything starts with a foundation and just like that we also had to do some major floor leveling to do the next thing.
Follow along with us as we build our schoolhouse and give testimony to a God who does not fail us.
Time lapse – enjoy!
